Why changing your paint color is like a rebound boyfriend

We had a flood. Compared to every flood ever in history, our flood was laughable, but a flood nevertheless. A foot
of water created a dirty pond in our finished basement. Our own Las Vegas Venetian canal of floating couches, cabinets,
dollhouses and more. Our garage has become a storage unit for everything salvaged and our once front room,
slated to be a office, became a temporary toy room. Well if you know me, this was not going to work.
Toys strewn about and having to tip toe around furniture in my garage sent me into OCD overload.

Cut to bright side. I was forced to make a decision regarding the front room. Unsure if our basement
would flood again, our couch and more needed a new home. And here is why a fresh coat of paint is like
a rebound boyfriend....

Off goes the familiar, 'safe', comfortable color. Changing your paint forces you, without a lot of
commitment, to make a fresh change. The same room you ignored before becomes infused with
a new energy. It has a new direction and purpose. It can be playful and set the course for a whole
new renovation in terms of decor. Just like that hunky date post breakup.
